Starting from the observation that Africa lacks sufficient food, that food insecurity is chronic and that malnutrition rates are the highest on the continent, the idea of creating an agricultural universe, capable of meeting this challenge, was born. The DORIKKO project is a commitment to develop the land of Togo and more broadly of Africa, which is among the most fertile arable land in the world.
Initially, this initiative was launched through the breeding of cattle in order to produce milk and meat of excellent quality to be offered on the local and regional market.
For us, it was not only a question of developing a simplified breeding project but a real large-scale project that ensures the processing of animal products because they are sources of high quality proteins and easily assimilated micronutrients.
DORIKKO has integrated into its development strategy the introduction of high performance breeding stock, the construction of quality sheepfolds, regular medical checks by animal health professionals and the professionalization of workers through an extensive project to digitalize farm management.
Today, DORIKKO covers hundreds of hectares and has hundreds of cattle.
As for agriculture, it was launched following livestock farming and DORIKKO aims to develop this activity through a production system fed by improved seeds on the one hand and by monitoring technical production routes on the other. The objective is to cultivate products that can be easily processed locally.
Among the crops, we can note soybeans and sunflowers that fit perfectly in the production of oils in these times of increasing demand due to the war in Ukraine which, in the meantime, was the first world producer of sunflower.
The common point of all these productions is their organic character.
“We believe that organic is the future of health and we want to prove wrong those who say that it is impossible to consume 100% organic. That’s why we focus most of our products on organic. Organic foods are generally richer in nutrients such as vitamins and minerals and produce more antioxidants.
DORIKKO’s main objective is to contribute to the preservation of the environment or biodiversity, thus ensuring healthy consumption for humans, a guarantee of good health.
